Hot water recirc systems bring convenience and savings to your home and give you hot water quickly at every shower or faucet when you need it. Saves up to 10% of your water bill or 15,000 gallons of water per year. Uses less energy than a 25-watt light bulb. Quiet operation, maintenance free. Copper or PEX Re-piping
Are your pipes leaking? Do you have a significant drop in water pressure? Is your water discolored or rusty or have a foul odor? Do you have old galvanized pipes or do your pipes have noticeable signs of wear, build up areas, rust or dry or wet water stains? These are some of the signs it could be time for a re-pipe. Advantages of using copper piping for re-pipes; raises the value of the home. Disadvantages, price, takes longer, harder to work with. Advantages of using the PEX piping system for re-pipes; cheaper, faster, easier to work with, expands and contracts with weather, heat and cold. Disadvantage; cannot be located outside in direct sunlight, copper is used instead in these areas. Nearly all existing homes were built with a thin walled copper that can wear, pit or leak over time. Most contractors use the same thin copper for repairs or re-pipes. Symphony Plumbing & Water Systems uses only thicker commercial grade copper for any copper repair or re-pipe that will last longer.

Plumbing Lifespan

Supply pipes under constant pressure are more likely to cause damage during a leak. These figures are not exact and there are many variables and environments that can extend or reduce the lifespan of different materials. Copper piping generally lasts 50+ years. Galvanized steel generally last 20-50 years. Cast iron drain lines last between 75-100 years and PVC or ABS drain lines can last indefinitely. Another material to watch out for is Polybutylene piping commonly found in some homes and is extremely prone to breakage. Checking water pressure and installing a water softener and or whole house filter can extend the life your plumbing system.

Expansion Tanks

Protect the hot water heater and plumbing system from expanding, absorbs water hammer reducing vibration and noise. Recommended for all 2 story houses and systems with certain equipment for protection. For installation or repair call Symphony Plumbing & Water Systems.

Pressure Regulators (PRV)
Water pressure regulators are designed to reduce incoming water pressure to a sensible level to protect plumbing system components and reduce water consumption. Reduced water pressure can help to prevent appliances, pipes and joint stress and leaks. Normal good water pressure should be between 50-80 psi.

Water damage is the #1 homeowner’s insurance claim…more than fire, storms or theft.” (Claims Magazine Oct.2005)
A home with a record of water claims may be uninsurable!” (Money Magazine 2003)
Leak Controller Systems
Specialized, affordable water alarm shut-off systems. Operation: upon sensing moisture the unit will shut off valve and sound an alarm. The water source is cut off, stopping the leak while the alarm continues to signal until the unit is reset. Powered by 4 “AA” batteries. Available Sizes 3/8”-1 ½”. Most typical household installation under kitchen sink connected to Reverse Osmosis.

Low or High Water Pressure Problems
Low water pressure problems does not necessarily mean you have a hidden leak. Call Symphony Plumbing & Water Systems today to get your low or high water pressure problems fixed at a reasonable price.

Water Leaks
What causes water leaks? Poor workmanship, environment, foundation or building shift, rust, electrolysis, wear, acidic chemicals and old or cheap inferior materials. Symphony Plumbing & Water Systems LLC uses Journeyman skilled plumbers for quality workmanship, methods and the best materials.
What are the potential leak areas and how to find them? Walls, ceilings, foundations, below ground, plumbing, fixtures, slab leaks, water leaks, gas leaks, sewer leaks and sprinkler, irrigation or drip system leaks.
How do I check for hidden leaks? Make sure no water is running. Look at the small triangle on your water meter. If the triangle is spinning, then you have a leak somewhere. A leak does not always mean you have to do a partial or full re-pipe. Whatever or wherever the leak, hidden or visible, Symphony Plumbing & Water Systems has the skills to troubleshoot, locate and repair all of your leaks.
